Wholemeal tortilla pizza

One way to make low-calorie pizza is to use a wholemeal tortilla wrap as the pizza base. This way, you'll be eating a very small amount of flour - and it's wholemeal, so it's full of fiber - which is perfect for cutting calories.

You can buy wholemeal tortilla wraps at your local supermarket, or make them yourself at home, replacing the white flour with wholemeal.

To reduce the number of calories in your pizza it's best to use low calorie foods. For example, you could replace pepperoni or bacon with healthier ingredients, like ham, tuna (without oil) and tomato slices.

Thin-crust wholemeal pizza

Another way to make a low-calorie pizza is to go for a thin, wholemeal crust. Eating a thin-crust pizza means less flour and fewer carbohydrates, meaning fewer calories. And because it's wholemeal flour, instead of refined carbohydrates you'll be eating fiber -so less fat will be absorbed by your body.

To make this low-calorie pizza, you can either buy the a ready-made dough or pizza base at your local supermarket, or make an unleavened pizza dough yourself. But remember to replace the white flour with wholemeal for a less calorific pizza.

When making the pizza, avoid using fatty ingredients and opt for other nutritious, low-calorie foods. For example, a good choice for a low-calorie pizza is to use fresh pineapple slices and some ham. It's delicious!

Egg dough pizza

This low-calorie pizza recipe is full of protein, perfect for athletes or people who do a lot of sport or exercise. To make the dough you'll need 2 egg yolks and 10 egg whites. The first step is to beat the yolks and whites in a bowl and, once beaten, put the mixture on top of some baking paper on a baking tray.

Add whatever ingredients you like to the dough for your light pizza, remembering that it is important for them to be low-fat foods so that your recipe is low in calories. For example you might add pieces of chicken, red pepper, green pepper and black olives. Then you just have to put the pizza in the oven and let it bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Bon appetit!

Cauliflower crust pizza

This is a low-calorie recipe because the flour is completely replaced by a cauliflower-based dough. To make this low calorie pizza, first you need to wash the cauliflower and grate it using a cheese grater. Then grind it in a food blender to ensure that there are no lumps in the dough.

Put it in the microwave for 5 to 7 minutes, and when you take it out, add an egg, a bit of light cheese, a little salt and a pinch of oregano. Mix all the ingredients together so that the dough is consistent texture and put it in the oven on a tray with a bit of oil to prevent it from sticking.

Let it cook for 15 minutes until it turns golden brown and then add your toppings. For example, you can make a low-calorie pizza with toppings like spinach, eggs and cherry tomatoes. Healthy and delicious!
