When the apple is ready you must chop it into thin slices to make sure it cooks well.

3

Then take a pot, fill it with water until about half way and heat it softly. Immediately add the apples to cook them, it is not necessary to wait for it to boil.

4

Cook them until they are soft. You can check that an apple is soft by prodding it with a knife.

5

Then, add the sugar, the butter and a little cinnamon to the pot until finishing to cook these all together and complete the apple sauce.

6

It is very important that you stir it occasionally to ensure it does not stick and that the ingredients do not burn.

7

To finalise and obtain the sauce, mash the apples. To get a pleasant texture do not mash these for too long, otherwise your sauce will be too liquid. To mash the apples you can use a food processor. Furthermore, you can also use a manual masher like that one in the photo, this will provide a more homemade appearance.

8

When the apple sauce is ready you can remove the pot from the heat and pour it in a sauce bowl. If you like these types of sauces do not miss out on our other recipes for strawberry and orange sauce.
