Steps to follow:
1

To prepare a ham and cheese omelette, first crack the eggs into a deep bowl or dish. Add some salt and beat them with an egg beater or a fork. Some people add a little milk (30 ml) to achieve a fluffier omelette.

2

Next, cut the York ham into small strips or dice it and stir it into the beaten eggs. If you're using cheese, you can use either grated cheese and add it to the above ingredients, or any other type of cheese, cutting it into small pieces first.

3

Using a fork, stir the mixture so that the ham and cheese are well mixed in with the egg. At the same time, put a non-stick frying pan on a low heat with a little olive oil. It's important that the omelette doesn't stick to the pan, otherwise you'll ruin it.

4

Once the oil in the pan is hot, pour in the ham and cheese omelette mixture and stir it a little using a wooden spatula so that the egg sets. Never use metal utensils as these will scratch the pan.

5

Once it starts to cook on one side, carefully flip the ham and cheese omelette over in order to brown it on the other side. You can also choose to fold the omelette in half, into three parts to make it easier to flip.

Enjoy!
