In this OneHowTo article, we explain step by step how to make an easy ham and cheese quiche, what are you waiting for?
The first thing you must take into account when making a quiche, whatever the filling, will be deciding whether to buy ready-made shortcrust pastry or to prepare it at home.
Also, prior to filling it, it will be essential that you heat the pastry a bit , at about 180°C for about 10 minutes, to prevent it from spoiling the recipe. Therefore, stretch it enough to place it in the mould and we recommend that you put some chickpeas or other heavy pulse above it to stop it from rising.
Meanwhile, you should start preparing the filling for the quiche. You need to beat the eggs with a little salt and then add the cream and a little ground pepper. Mix well to make it smooth.
Next, add the ham to the mixture , diced or cubed, and the cheese. As for the cheese, you can choose the one you like best: cheddar, emmental, gouda, etc. and either grated or chopped.
Finally, you have to pour the filling over the mould with the pastry and bake your ham and cheese quiche for about 25 minutes at 180°C. To make sure it is ready, poke it with a pointed utensil e.g. a stick or knife... to check that it is not liquid.
