How to Make Apple Sponge Cake

To start this apple sponge cake recipe, preheat the oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Then begin to beat 4 eggs continuously in a large bowl with 300 grams of sugar. Then, add the plain yogurt and keep beating to mix well.
Now, in a medium bowl, add 300 grams of flour and yeast or baking powder, then add everything to the above mixture. Keep mixing all ingredients until mixed well, and all combined. Add a pinch of salt and 100 grams of melted butter to the mixture. Remember to keep beating well to avoid lumps.
Then add three apples for the cake. Peel them, core them, and grate one of them to add to the mixture. The other apples should be cut into thin slices or wedges making crosscuts. And try not to peel them until the last moment because apples are easily damaged.
Prepare the cake tin by spreading a little butter on the tin so it does not stick and coat with flour. When the mixture is ready, pour into the tin on top of the apple slices, sprinkle a little cinnamon, vanilla and sugar to give the final touch.
When the oven reaches the desired temperature, put the tin in for about 45 minutes at about the 30 minute mark check to see if it's a long way off. Make sure it is well done by prodding the batter with a toothpick, if it comes out a little wet the cake needs a little bit more time. Once the apple cake is ready, leave it to sit for a few hours so it can settle and have an even more intense taste.
