Making cakes is very easy and yet very useful because their versatility allows us to use them for breakfast, snacks, desserts and on other countless occasions. So, to make a traditional condensed milk cake, put this main ingredient in a large enough bowl to prepare the cake batter. As for the size of the can or tin of condensed milk, they normally contain between 370 and 400 grams depending on the brand, so you can increase the rest of the ingredients a little if the can is bigger than this.

Then add the eggs one at a time in the bowl of condensed milk. It is very important that you mix each egg using a manual or electric beater so they are mixed well in the condensed milk. This means you should not crack the next egg until you have thoroughly mixed the previous one.

You should also melt the butter before adding it to the mixture of the condensed milk cake. Besides keeping it at room temperature, it's helpful to put it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt it or, if you prefer, in a saucepan. That done, pour the melted butter in the bowl where you've mixed the condensed milk and eggs and mix it in using the beater.

Then you should sift the flour to make it thinner and prevent lumps; for this you can use a sieve or if you do not have this utensil, an ordinary fine sieve and a spoon. This is obviously to filter the flour through the holes.

Once sifted, add the flour and the baking powder (the Royal brand) in the bowl or container where you are making the dough, and stir well to form a homogeneous and smooth mixture.

Also wash a lemon and use a grater to add zest to the condensed milk cake and give it a delicious aroma. It is not necessary to grate the entire lemon peel, just a little will suffice and you can use the rest of the lemon for something else. Mix well so that it is spread throughout the dough and the flavour permeates the whole cake.

Finally, you should pour the mixture into a non-stick pan, such as a silicone one, or grease a normal pan to make it easier to remove the condensed milk cake. With the oven preheated to about 180°C (356°F), bake the cake for about 20-30 minutes or until it is brown on the outside and comes out clean when pierced with a sharp utensil. Bon appétit!
