Some people dislike eating liver because it's function in the body is to be a storage organ for toxins in the body but this is not true. The liver eliminates toxins and stores important nutrients like vitamin A, D, E, K, B12 and folic acid, as well as iron.

So not only will this liver recipe provide you with lots of nutrients, the fried liver will be bursting with flavour. Once you add the onion and simply season it with pepper, you'll have a dish that nobody will be able to resist.

To begin, wash the liver well and drain it. Then cube it for quicker cooking.

How to Make Fried Liver - Step 1

Peel and dice the garlic as finely as you can. Then place the liver in a bowl and add all seasonings: garlic, salt, pepper, vinegar and, if you like a little spice, add a dash of hot pepper. Leave the liver to marinate in this mixture for at least half an hour, enough for it to absorb the delicious garlic flavour and all of the spices for a truly mouth-watering dish.


After marinating the liver, it is time to fry it. If you want to add onion and pepper to the dish, cut these vegetables as finely or as thickly as you want. Place oil in a non-stick pan and bring to a medium heat.

When the oil is hot, add the onion and cook for 3 minutes. Then add the pepper and cook until the onion is lightly browned (not burnt).


Then add the liver and mix with the other ingredients. Simmer until you the water has evaporated and until it takes on a lovely golden colour. Remove from the heat and serve your fried liver dish with a rich salad, mashed potatoes or chips. Tuck in!
