The first step in order to make non-alcoholic mojito is to wash the spearmint or peppermint leaves - as many as we want, although the most common thing is to use between 7 and 10 - and place them in a container with the brown sugar. You can also use white sugar, but it's less authentic.

Now, with the help of a pestle and mortar, crush the two ingredients lightly for the flavors to start blending. Do not shred the leaves; we just want the juices to get out.
