To start to make the perfect tabbouleh, prepare the vegetables. The secret of this dish is that all the ingredients are blended well so that no flavor covers any other. Start by chopping the tomatoes and cucumbers into very small cubes. To give you more of an idea of how small; one round slice of cucumber should be cut into four small pieces.

Then chop the onion very finely, as small as the other ingredients. Mix them and place them in the salad bowl in which you will serve this refreshing salad.

Now for the parsley and mint, two herbs that are characteristic of this dish. First wash them to remove any dirt, then dry them thoroughly. Then chop them very finely so that they mix well with the other ingredients.

After this, drizzle some olive oil on top and also the juice of the lemon to give it that zingy citrus touch. Add a little salt to taste and mix well so that all flavors blend well.

However, a tabbouleh is not authentic without couscous, one of the most characteristic ingredients of this recipe. So, the next step is to simply cook the couscous, which couldn't be any easier. Place the couscous in a bowl and add some boiling water - just a little bit until the couscous is cooked. Cover with a cloth and leave for 2 to 3 minutes.

Once you see that it is ready, simply mix all ingredients together to blend the flavors well. Then put in the fridge and leave for 2 hours or so. This step is essential as it gives it that fluffy, compact touch. When you serve it up, we recommend placing some lemon on the table so people can add some juice if they like.
