How to Make Chocolate Chip Cupcakes - Easy Recipe!
Chocolate chip cupcakes are a favourite in many households. They're a breakfast with coffee, a nice afternoon snack accompanied with tea and even a delicious dessert after dinner. A classic recipe like this one never goes out of style!
In this oneHOWTO article, we're going to show you how to make chocolate chip cupcakes from scratch. This recipe is easy to follow and to whip up for any occasion. Let's get started!
Heat the oven before starting to 175 ° C. Then, mix the margarine, sugar and vanilla in a bowl.
Mix with an electric mixer on high speed for about 4-5 minutes or until you see that the consistency has become creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time and mix more on high speed for 3-4 minutes per egg.
You will know that everything has mixed well when you will notice how the mixture grew at least 25% and how it has also changed from a yellowish colour to a whiter one, like in the image below.
Get two additional bowls. In one, put a cup of liquid milk. In the other, sift the flour a couple of times to make the mixture softer and fluffy. Add the baking powder to the flour as well and sift, as it usually has a lot of lumps.

Add the flour and milk little by little, and interspersed. Mix with the electric mixer until everything is well integrated.
This is how the mixture is when it is ready.
Take all the chocolate chips and put them in the mixture. Beat some more, this time by hand. We will not use the electric mixer anymore.
Find a plastic container or bowl. Put the dark chocolate there and melt in the microwave. Don't put it for more than 30 seconds at a time. If you need more time, take out, and put back another 30 seconds. Now add half of the mixture with the chips and mix with the melted chocolate.
Now you will have two batters, one chocolate and one vanilla. Prepare the cupcake tray. Put the cups in and add a bit of the vanilla batter, then the chocolate. Fill the cups up until they are 3/4 full.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, in the middle tray. If you're not sure they're there, stick a knife or tooth pick in the middle to make sure. If the knife or toothpick comes out dry, they are ready. If it comes out moist or wet, leave them in for a few more minutes as they haven't thoroughly baked yet.
Once they are ready, let them rest in the oven for about 10 minutes. Then, take them out of the tray for a couple of minutes before serving.
These delicious and easy-to-make chocolate chip cupcakes are truly a great treat! You can also play around with this recipe. For example, you can keep the entire batter vanilla and simply add the chocolate chips before putting the cupcakes into the oven. Or, if you're a chocolate fan, you can do the opposite and make it the entire batter chocolate flavour and add the chocolate chips too.

- Opt for unsalted margarine.
- Do not use powdered sugar to substitute regular sugar.
- If you notice that the mixture is too loose add a little more flour, however, if it is too thick add more milk.
- When you bake them you will see that they sink a bit. This happens because the mixture with chocolate has a lot of fat and it looks more like a brownie.
- If you want them to rise more, you can separate the mixture before adding the flour and milk. Substitute half the flour for cocoa. If you want, you can put a coverage on top that you like.
- You can also keep the batter completely vanilla and just add the chocolate chips inside before putting it in the oven.
