How To Make Flan In The Microwave
Do you have guests but not the time to prepare desserts? Do your kids love flan but you do not want to spend hours cooking it in a bain marie? Here is an easy recipe for how to make a rich egg custard in minutes. You won't believe how easy it is! Take note:
You'll need:
- 3 eggs
- 7 heaped tablespoons of sugar
- 500cc of milk
- 1 vanilla pod
Steps to follow:
In a saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons sugar to make caramel. Once you have caramel, pour it into the microwavable mould that you will use to make the flan. Put some of the milk in a glass with vanilla and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, so that the vanilla releases its aroma. This infusion process enhances the flavor of the flan, making it more aromatic and delightful.
In a bowl, beat the eggs, then add the sugar and the milk (including vanilla). Mix well until the sugar is completely dissolved, ensuring a smooth texture for the flan. Pour the mixture into the mould where you put the caramel before. Put the mould with the mixture in the microwave and set it at a power of 700W-800W for 6 minutes. It's crucial not to overcook the flan as it might become too firm. Adjust the time slightly depending on your microwave's power, but always keep an eye on it to prevent overcooking.
After six minutes, the flan is ready! Leave it to cool to room temperature and then put it in the fridge to cool completely. Allowing the flan to chill thoroughly in the fridge will help it set properly, giving it a creamy texture. Now you just have to serve and enjoy the flan made in the microwave. Bon appétit!
