Chia energy balls.
Chia seeds are packed with omega-3 fatty acids which have an important role to play for the improvement of brain health. They are also responsible for slowing down digestion, so that you feel fuller for longer, and thus end up eating less. Combine 1 cup pitted, whole medjool dates, ½ cup raw almonds, ¼ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened), 1 tbsp chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Put these ingredients in a food processor, until the mixture is held together. With wet hands, make small balls with the mixture, and enjoy this snack.
The health benefits of kale are numerous. It contains flavonoids and carotenoids that prevent your body cells from becoming cancerous. Kale is also helpful in lowering down cholesterol.
To prepare it, remove stems of a bunch of kale, and tear them into pieces. Put them in a bowl, add some avocado flesh and massage until the kale leaves relax and get fully coated with avocado. Squeeze some lemon juice in the bowl, and season with pepper and salt. This salad makes a great homemade superfood snack.
Remove stems and tear the kale bunch into small pieces. Wash the leaves thoroughly, drizzle it with olive oil, and sprinkle some seasoning salt. Preheat oven to 350˚F and bake the kale until the edges become brown. This may take around 10-15 minutes and your kale chips will be ready.
