Before we delve into the benefits on a cosmetic level and ideas for delicious recipes, you must learn to make rice flour at home. It is very simple! You only need a powerful blender and the amount of rice you want to use. It can be white or brown rice. Your choice can affect the recipes in their flavor and properties. Both rice varieties work equally well on a cosmetic level.

For its preparation, all you have to do is put the rice grains in the mixer, and blend them to make them into a very fine powder. Of course, we must take into account the amount of rice that will be ground together: if you put more than four cups of rice in the mixer at the same time, the quality of the resulting flour may be quite poor. It is better to make this flour gradually.

For other gluten-free recipes oneHOWTO offers other alternatives such as buckwheat flour and sweet potato flour.

The benefits of rice flour for your skin

Rice flour is a good substitute for talc. So if you need some, you can use this type of flour. If applied dry on to the body (without adding anything), it makes our skin dry and it absorbs fats.

Did you know that is a must in Asian countries like Korea? Many Korean women use this type of flour for their skin, especially to remove stains and wrinkles that can occur over time. In addition, rice flour in places like Japan is called "the mask of the geisha". It is not surprising to then note that it brings light to the wearer's face, and we know that these women look like they have extremely clear, polished skin. It can be easily applied to any skin type. After using your make-up remover at night, a mask made from this flour can be used so that the skin appears more pampered, smoother and cleaner when the sun comes up again.

It also serves as an exfoliating agent because the grains are not as fine as wheat flour from the supermarket. So you can use rice flour to remove disgusting pimples and infested blackheads from your face.

Crêpes made from rice flour and almonds

Flour is widely used to make desserts, and rice flour is no exception. With some rice flour, you can develop recipes as delicious as these pancakes with rice flour and almonds. These are suitable for Celiacs and for people with different types of allergies. The ingredients needed for 2 people are as follows:

  • 10 almonds
  • 3 cups of rice flour
  • 1 cup of corn-starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 cup of filler (a good choice is pork and pepper)
  • 1 gram (0.03 oz) of gelatine
  • 1 cup of shelled corn
  • Pinch of salt

You can make a sauce with meat and pepper. Boil it with corn and gelatine for about five minutes and take it off the heat but do not remove the food so it stays warm. Then you have to grind the almonds with 100 ml of water, put it all in a bowl, add the corn-starch and rice flour and stir until you've got a smooth paste. Chuck it all in a blender, and then you can add more water or rice flour until it is a fairly liquid mass, as with traditional French crêpes.

Once done, we put a little oil in a pan and slap a little dough in the center of the pan. When you have made some holes, you can turn it around so that the dough is well cooked on the other side. Next take the sauce from earlier with meat and peppers, roll it all up, and your crêpes are ready!
