How to make syrup

In many recipes, especially desserts, we use syrup as an ingredient. But do you know what it is exactly? It is nothing more than sugar dissolved in water and boiled until it has a syrup texture. Steps to follow:

The proportions of the ingredients can vary depending on what we will use the syrup for. In this case, we will work on the basis of 1 cup water per 1 cup sugar.

Put the sugar and water in a pot.

Heat the pot on a medium heat to dissolve the sugar in the water, this may take about 15 minutes.

Keep stirring the mixture non-stop, to stop it from caramelising.

Cook until the syrup thickens.

It's consistency will depend on what you are going to use the syrup for.
