Maggi contains MSG

MSG, sodium glutamate or monosodium glutamate, is sodium salt of the glutamic acid, an abundantly occurring non-essential amino acid MSG. It is a kind of concentrated salt which is added to a food to enhance flavor. This version of glutamic acid can be naturally produced in the body, but MSG is processed, and comes from sugar beets after fermentation. This processed MSG can cause numerous adverse effects, such as hives, itching, skin rash, vomiting, nausea, heart irregularities, asthma, migraine, depression and seizures.

Maggi is made up of maida

Maida is refined flour which we usually avoid in restaurant breads and biscuits. Maggi is essentially made from maida, which is made after processing whole grain flour. During this processing, the bran, husk and germ are removed, which are perhaps the most nutritious parts of the seed. So, the Maggi that you eat is devoid of any such nutrients. However, there are atta and rice versions of Maggi available out there, which are at least somewhat healthier than its regular variant.
